Resounding success at the 3rd edition of the windsurfing event in Essaouira

From 26 April to 3 May, the city of Essaouira, Morocco, was the world epicentre of windsurfing as it hosted the third edition of this now iconic event. With a record participation of 90 riders from all corners of the globe, this edition exceeded all expectations, consolidating itself as one of the most outstanding competitions on the international windsurfing calendar.

The conditions were epic, with waves up to mast height and winds of medium to strong intensity, offering a perfect setting for both competitors and spectators. The excitement was at its peak on every day, and the atmosphere on the beach was simply unparalleled.

Multiple categories were contested: Junior U15, U17, U21, U21, Pro Men, Amateur and Pro Women, where nine women demonstrated a very high level in the women’s professional category. The diversity of categories allowed promising youngsters to share the stage with established figures of the sport, providing a spectacle that was celebrated both by locals and by the many visitors and onlookers who came to the coast.

The event not only broke records for participation, but also for quality and excitement. It was, without a doubt, an edition to remember. The images and videos captured during the week speak for themselves, immortalising moments that will remain engraved in the collective memory of Essaouira and the global windsurfing community.
